Anyone else been playing the new releases from the Orange Box released today? So far I've played Portal for a couple hours. The game is amazing. Valve could have just made it a simple run-around-a-lab-with-a-portal-gun-game but they put the extra effort into it and it definitely makes it that much better. I'm thinking Weighted Companion Cube for game character of the year.

I want to pick up the orange box sooo bad (I've never played HL2, let alone it's spin-offs), but I have no money and no internet. Damn you Rabid.

I'll probably pick up the Xbox 360 version some time over the next month or so... I have too many games to play through right now though.

- Kris I had never played HL2 either - I'm just starting now. Apparently if someone already owns HL2 and they buy the Orange Box it allows them to "Gift" their extra copy of HL2 to another person. I had someone give me their extra copy over the weekend so I've been playing through it - it's really quite good.

Portal is fan-tas-tic! Unbelievable. Team Fortress 2 (which I've been playing since the 'beta') is also great. I'm digging to Episode 2 at the moment.

Finished Episode 2. It's another cliff-hanger. Questions were almost answered before they were shattered into a million other questions. You know, the usual.

Question: When do we get to use the portal gun in half-life 2? You see, Portal was awesome, I wants more.

Started playing the bonus missions in Portal. Whoever made that one where they put the sentries in cages so you can't knock them over is a dick.

I finally got my orange box up and running. I've been playing a little half life, a little portal, but I've been playing the shit out of team fortress 2.
The game is oozing with awesome. The graphical stylings suit the game perfectly, looking crisp and hilarious, and helps (in my mind) make the game more fun, as you'd probably take the game a lot more seriously if the graphics were "true to life". Music is old-school spy action type music and is fantastic. What makes it though is how each of the nine classes plays so differently, yet each one is very fun to play once you get the nuances down, not to mention how they are all really balanced. There's not one class that people complain is cheap. I've been putting way too much time into this, and with school starting on monday, my studies are looking grim. I'll try to ween myself off TF2, but I can't make any promises. :grr:

I bought The Orange Box for Xbox 360 a few weeks back... I played most of Half Life 2 on the PC previously, but never got round to finishing it. Over the Christmas break I replayed through and completed it, completed Episode 1 and found the end to that absolutely brilliant and am now playing through Episode 2. Easily some of the FPS gaming ever. I love the Half Life 2 storyline, it's so compelling and keeps you playing and wanting answers.
Portal's pretty great too, and I've not even had a chance to play TF2 yet.

Does anyone else here have the PC version? If so you should let me shoot you a few times.
My SteamID is "King of Space."
