It comes out today for you north Americans. It's hard to import it to Europe and there's no sign of a releasedate here:cry:.
Anyone played it yet?
Post impressions.

I've been thinking of importing a copy... there's lots on eBay, so why would it be hard to import?

I haven't followed this (these?) game (games?) too much. Is it dramatically different from Ruby/Sapphire? If not, I think I'll be giving it a miss, to be honest. Pokemon games have become quite stale.

I find if you skip every other generation of Pokemon games, it tends to keep the series fresh. I completed skipped out Gold/Silver and the Red/Green remakes.

Well, D/P is NOT going to be original but it has Wi-Fi which makes up for that.
Haven't checked out Ebay yet. But nintendo ordered import sites not to sell the US versions to Europeans.
But I'm going to wait till I know some more about the compatibilty with the GBA games. You can transfer over GBA pokemon via the GBA slot, but perhaps it's possible this game has a region lock.

I'm going to try to get one of these games as soon as possible. I've always loves the Pokemon series, no matter how retarded it is. Plus, I'm completely psyched for the WiFi.

Same for me.
Wi-Fi will make it a lot easier to complete the pokédex.

I'll likely pick it up soon, especially seeing as I have someone I can *finally* play wirelessly with, haha.

I've loved Pokemon since Red, but haven't really got in to any of them after Red, so I'm really psyched for Diamond and Pearl. I'm not particularly sure why. It's probably the WiFi.

Turns out they are actually importing the US versions at my local gameshop. I reserved a copy. Should be there within days. I'm so excited.

Anyone grabbed a copy of this yet? I'm interested in knowing how different (if at all) it is from the GBA games.

Yea, I have Diamond. I'm only at the 3rd gym leader right now, but so far it's a really fun game. In the old new Pokemon, there would be only the new ones and then a few of the ones from the previous series? Now theres a much bigger variety between the pokemon from every series to catch.

Pearl is great, I went and bought both for a friend and I; In my opinion it's the best Pokemon game since the original red and blue. I think the reason may be that they've started changing the same formula that they've been using for so long. For instance when you start you don't chose your main Pokemon in the lab like every other Pokemon game. These kinds of changes make it feel like a fresh and new experience which is something gold silver ruby and sapphire never could do for me.
So I'd say go get it if you're on the fence, even if you don't like it you can still use it as a cheap means of using voice communications over the internet.

Wasn't that the same way you chose your starting pokemon in Sapphire/Ruby? Like, you had to go protect the professor from that pokemon, and the balls were in his suitcase.
